OUR PRESCHOOL AND KINDERGARTEN PROGRAM
Theme-Based Curriculum Model
Schoolville Academy for Young Learners, Inc. adopts a Theme-Based Model in designing its curriculum. In a theme-based curriculum, one broad topic or big idea is the organizing structure for teaching and learning for a period of time. Art, songs, stories, etc. are all based on the theme being taught, linking the subject matter together, and giving children with different learning styles an opportunity to use their particular talents and skills. Schoolville Academy's curriculum is geared towards developing our young learners four areas of development: Motor, Socio-Emotional, Cognitive, and Language Skills.

THE PRE-NURSERY LEVEL
The Early Explorers
2 yrs. to 2.11 yrs. old
The Pre-Nursery program nurtures our learners’ innate exploratory side allowing them to understand the world around them by playing and interacting with their environment. Learning and development are facilitated by trusting relationships with their teacher who is close at hand to support and guide the children.
THE NURSERY LEVEL
The Thinking Toddlers
3 yrs. to 3.11 yrs. old
The Nursery program builds on our toddlers’ emerging awareness of symbols and concepts through an active learning approach in the form of play, games, and music. Nursery kids are beginning to understand the ‘why’ of things and becoming good abstract and logical thinkers. Direct, hands-on activities foster lasting and significant learning experiences.

THE PRE-KINDERGARTEN LEVEL
The Bright Beginners
4 yrs. to 4.11 yrs. old
The Pre-Kindergarten program caters to our learners’ innately inquisitive and imaginative nature. Their unique needs are met by providing them with various opportunities to explore, create, discover, and experiment. Engaging, relevant, and meaningful instructions are used to introduce more complex and higher level skills.
THE KINDERGARTEN LEVEL
The Proficient Preschoolers
5 yrs. to 5.11 yrs. old
The Kindergarten program is centered on preparing our preschoolers for a successful transition to grade school. Priority is given to mastery of related skills in Science, Math, Language, and Social Studies. The goal is to equip our children emotionally and intellectually for them to competently meet curriculum
expectations in their later school years.
